TwomonUSB - Extended Display App Reviews

Works great!

The app works excellent for extending the desktop, and now that the ability to mirror my desktop has been added as well, this app is everything I could ask for. Thank you so much!

Great app, works as advertised!

Just downloaded the app and tested with basic office and internet applications and it works great. There was no lag playing video or running PowerPoint or Excel. So much better than WiFi monitor apps! Great job!

Not worth $10

Save your $10 for lunch because this app is not worth it. I expected with that price it should be usable but it lags, slows down my pc (i7, 8gig ram, gtx760, etc), and forces windows out of aero mode, which interferes with my normal use. It shouldve been a trial app before proven worthy $10. Purchase at your own risk...not worth $10.

Completely superior to Wi-Fi alternatives.

I have been waiting a long time to find a solution like this. If the AppStore has a desktop streaming solution, Ive tried it. But despite every work around, the latency was to significant to be ignored. This is the first time that I feel real progress has been made. I am using a google Cardboard set up with my iPhone, and with this Im able to properly stream games at a decent speed! It was completely worth $10!!

Works exactly as described

I have a Surface Pro 3 and want a reliable way to use my iPad as a second monitor. I was somewhat reluctant to buy this app after trying two others that didnt work (TeamView and Splashtop) on my home wireless network. I saw the terrible review Justin gave this app but after reading multiple reviews about how undependable wifi-based remote monitor apps are, and after seeing the video demo on the Twomon website, decided to risk the ten bucks for a USB-based remote monitor app. I downloaded the Windows app, installed it and iTunes (which is required for connectivity), and since there was an option to create a Gmail account for "simple" connections (??) went ahead and created a throwaway gmail account just in case. Not sure if that did anything. Then I bought and downloaded the iPad app from the App Store, connected the Surface Pro 3 to the iPad with the USB/lightning cable, and as promised the screen asked me if I wanted to connect. I touched "connect" and voila, I had a remote monitor that is displayed as such even on the Windows display settings. It works perfectly. One precaution: the thing did change my screen resolution so I had to change it back to what I wanted. Anyway this app works. It works the first time with zero hassles.

Awesome app

Install and setup nice and simple. Looks great and no lag. I use it with Asus gaming laptop

PC only

Why are there Mac computer pictures displaying OSX on all screens of the itunes ad here??? This app is for PC monitoring only!!! This ad is just deception.

Worked as described!

I connected Surface 3 pro with my iPad Air 2, and it worked with no issues! I tried a few other second display app (splashtop, Airdisplay.) This app is the only app working properly. Just keep in mind that its PC app, which is required to use this app, takes a slight CPU load, between 10% and 20%. This means that is drains your laptops battery, making this app not recommend without a laptop charger.

too slow but works and wish it were vetted for safety

boy I wanted it to work. it does, however its way too slow, w/my set up at least. I have an ipad air and a dell 11" laptop, and the slowness could be due to not having a very powerful computer. I have low ram and a budget processor. it may work better w more ram. I was initially hesitant to try this app because you have to download a piece of software on your computer and I havent been able to find any reputable reviews saying it was safe to do. I rolled the dice and tried it out and so I havent noticed any issues with my machine. I uninstalled the three things that are installed with the download one hour after trying it out. I was too concerned with the unknown software download. it worked, but it really needs to be vetted for safety by cnet or someone of that ilk.

Finally Works great on my Win 7 box!

Finally an extra monitor app that does not have lag ! and works with my old iPad 2 !! with out issues! I was skeptical because I used some wireless ones before ... but this one is usable! and it connected with out any issues! totally recomended!

Works Great for Me

I have been using Twomon USB with my Windows 8.3 laptop and it works great. Im able to move a training video for Premiere Pro CC onto my iPad while I work with Premiere Pro CC on my laptop. I can move the cursor back and forth between the two devices quickly and smoothly. I have used it for hours at a time with no hitches or crashes. Im very happy with it.

Not Bad

Only used windows version. A rocky start but w updates its improved. Works for some use cases, though the mouse isnt always synced with the display. Also why are all the pictures of Macs?

It actually works!

Finally. I have been looking for something that would allow me to have a second monitor when I travel. Unlike the wireless (Wi-Fi) apps, this one will work in a hotel. Ive never been able to get one to work over hotel Wi-Fi. I used this with my Windows 8 laptop and my fourth generation iPad with no issues thus far. There is a little bit of lag, but Im not playing games on it. Im using it for work. Disregard any videos or screenshots with Korean text that you might find when researching this app. When you choose English as your language, that is what you will see while using the PC program and iOS app. This is worth the money.

*Update: No Longer Works with Mac Computers*

I have two issues: 1.This app works on the older OS 10.7, but on newer operating systems, it crashes constantly. I’ve used it with computers running 10.10 and 10.9 (with different usb cords) and it would crash within 5 mins. Not only would it crash, it would log me out of my user, so I would also lose my save. 2. You’d think the iPad would power itself from the computer, but that isn’t the case, it will actually die, because the iPad needs more power than the computer usb can provide.

Works as advertised

I bought this to stream Windows games over a stable wired connection to my phone. I was disappointed however when the video didnt support my graphics card at all. Games would open but seemed to only use the CPU and got unbearable performance.

Doesnt work on Yosemite

You have to download the PC app from their only-in-Korean website. The download takes an hour or longer and then I find the dmg isnt recognized by Yosemite. No way to contact the dev, iTunes wont let me report a problem and of course their website is in Korean. Basically Ive been robbed of $10. Guess Ill know better next time. This app is a worthless piece of crap.

It meets my needs, with a little acceptable flaw.

I use my win8.1 notebook, and use iPad Air 2 as the second screen by TwomonUSB. It works perfectly, without any complex setting. The only problem is the display on iPad has slightly short delay, so lower quality increases as the FPS increases. That means, it isnt ideal for YouTube videos, but for relatively static objects. In my case, I put journal articles on that for reading, so its not a big deal for me. This app is for people who needs to use iPad as the second screen to display documents, so they could read those documents while typing text on the first screen. Otherwise, for comparison.

TwomonUSB in English

This could be a great app if it worked. I loaded it on my iPad and Windows notebook. It finally connected after much tweeking, but it only mirrors the notebook screen on the iPad, it wont extend it. I tried for several hours to get it to extend the screen without success. Ive emailed the developer on several occasions, but no response. Probably because no one in the organization speaks or reads english. The limited documentation is written in such poor english grammar that it is undeciferable. Another wasted 10 bucks.

Now poor

This previously worked well. update 3 jan 2012 Has stopped working, in two ways Windows 8.1. Nothing has changed on my pc 1. Windows mirrors the first display but cannot extend to this device as second display. 2. Cannot update windows driver. Connection fails, i guess Guess i was lucky it worked for more than a year

Cannot pass tip instruction

I cannot exit the tip instruction screen when I connected
